Colorado has many beautiful lakes and Chalk Lake is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the Sawatch Range. If you came for an overnight stay Colt Spring Campground is a pleasant site to camp; a splendid close by hotel is Buena Vista Super 8 Motel. Chalk Lake is a location that is reasonably dried out ordinarily; August is when you get the most rain here while January is generally the driest month.

| | lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Monarch, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Fooses Creek Trail. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. Very picturesque scenery and great skiing is what you get at Ski Cooper; the Horn Fork Trail is a tremendous hiking trail nearby. glorious place to get some rest, and in case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Arkansas River.
A short tour to Anges Vail Falls is always worthwhile, and camping at Chalk Lake is delightful
fun, Angel of Shavano Campground is a delightful local campground. During the long summer days highs here at Chalk Lake get into the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in
the 30's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Chalk Lake. The Sawatch Range scenery is always beautiful.
Cascade Canyon is right next door to Chalk Lake and is certainly a great spot to pop by, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Browns Creek Trail.
