A visit to Chain Lakes is always a good idea. Get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Vallecito Creek; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Whitehead Trail. So many entertaining things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too great to be true. You can run the rapids of Canyon Creek next to Chain Lakes, and you could always look at Dark Canyon. Summer at Chain Lakes comes with high temperatures in the 70's; throughout

| | summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Highs during the winter are typically in the 30's while Chain Lakes nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant spree to Freeman Park is a great way to spend an afternoon, and not far from Chain Lakes you'll stumble on Vallecito Reservoir which is a charming lake. Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Chain Lakes. | |

A pleasant close by hotel is Lodge at Tamarron, and why not camp at Blue Spruce Trailer Park since you're here at Chain Lakes. This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. All year is a good time in the
San Juan and Jemez Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. If you need a place to stay Tamarron Resort is a splendid choice; if you're here you can take a hike along the Pine-Piedra Stock Driveway. This lake is so wonderful.
The Deer Park Trail is a great hiking trail next to Chain Lakes. Berri Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth checking out, and Vallecito Campground is a wonderful local campground. It is very arid here at Chain Lakes regularly;
of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
