    If you are in this part of Colorado make sure to pay a visit to Chain Lakes. Chain Lakes is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Freeman Park is a great location here at Chain Lakes, and going for a hike on the Deer Park Trail is always a great adventure. Man, is there loads of cool things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. You might want to pay a visit to Dark Canyon while you're here at Chain Lakes, and the Pine-Piedra  
   Stock Driveway is a delightful hiking trail nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. A perfect location for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Chain Lakes is Vallecito Creek; not far from Chain Lakes you'll come across Lake Eileen which is a lovely lake. If you need a site to stay Tamarron Resort is a good choice; do check out Berri Creek while you're here at Chain Lakes. Near Chain Lakes you discover the Whitehead Trail which is a splendid hiking trail, and
 
               camping is available at Blue Spruce Trailer Park.
So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too tremendous to be true. Lakes? Sure, Vallecito Reservoir is close at hand, and why not camp at Vallecito Campground if you're here at Chain Lakes. But wait, there's more to do near Chain Lakes. A fine close by hotel is Lodge at Tamarron, and Canyon Creek is a tremendous whitewater spot close by.
Not much rain falls here at Chain Lakes; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and June meanwhile is the driest month. High temperatures at Chain Lakes throughout the warm days of summer are in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 30's while Chain Lakes overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's.
