What a nice lake Cataract Lake is. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Sloan Lake; after a long day outdoors St.Elmo Hotel is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two. Cataract Lake is pretty waterless ordinarily; all through August this area sees the most rain, and June is when it's the driest. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! Cataract Lake is excellent! Bristol Head Reservoir Number 1 is a nearby lake that you could visit; hiking is

| | a popular thing to do around Cataract Lake; Big Blue Trail is a magnificent local trail. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains will keep you coming back many times. If you came for an overnight stay Mill Creek Campground is a nice place to camp, and you can hit the slopes at Kendall Mountain nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Lost Trail Campground is a brilliant campground nearby, and wonderful hiking is available along the Ridge | |

up here to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains for a magnificent time. A wonderful nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Ouray, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Whitehead Trail. Whitewater paddling is glorious on Henson Creek;
Half Peak is painless to spot from Cataract Lake. All through the summertime highs here at Cataract Lake get into the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Cataract Lake.
