Castilleja Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. For the period of the long summer days highs here at Castilleja Lake reach the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Castilleja Lake. Nearby Crystal Valley is a delightful spot to go if you're at Castilleja Lake, and there are some great whitewater spots on Animas River.

| | And if that's not enough there's heaps more cool stuff to do in the San Juan Mountains. If you need a location to stay Grimes Creek Resort is a magnificent choice, and the Deer Park Trail offers hiking at its best.
There's so much to do here at Castilleja Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Blue Spruce Trailer Park is a tremendous location for that, and the summit of Amherst Mountain can be seen from Castilleja Lake. Be careful coming to Castilleja | |

Lake, you might not ever wanna return home again. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Castilleja Lake has to offer, you can camp at Vallecito Campground, and you can never get enough of the perfect skiing at Silverton.
While you're here at Castilleja Lake, you could also stop by picturesque Lake Marie, and there's great hiking along the Whitehead Trail.
Just can't get enough of the San Juan Mountains. Castilleja Lake is right by the Brooklyn
Trail, and Castilleja Lake is a site with many visitors from Durango. Castilleja Lake is located in the San Juan Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Castilleja Lake it's a delightful idea to go to Upper Park,
and if you come at the right time of year, Vallecito Creek offers some great whitewater.
If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Castilleja Lake. At Castilleja Lake you don’t see much precipitation;
August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is June. This lake is so wonderful. Wits End is a glorious place to get some rest; brilliant skiing awaits you at Kendall Mountain.
