If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Sawatch Range. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Taylor River, and a good location to have a look at is Bear Gulch. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Comanche Campground is always a great experience. Camping is available at Gold Creek Campground; skiing at Monarch is one of those things       you just have to do. All the outdoors exciting things close to Carter Lake will keep you coming back time and again. Super 8 Gunnison/Crested Butte Area is a fine spot to get some rest; Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is one of the destinations that are great to take a look at close by. At Carter Lake you don’t see much precipitation; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow, and June meanwhile is the driest month.                  Yep, outdoors amusing stuff truly is bountiful here in the Sawatch Range.
