You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Ski Cooper       while you're here; a lake close by is Josephine Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Half Moon Trail is always a brilliant adventure; a good close by hotel is Hyatt Mountain Lodge. At Carter Lake through the warm months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Carter Lake. Carter Lake is one of                  the lakes here in the Sawatch Range. So many amusing things to do in the Sawatch Range, not sufficient time. You get a fine panorama of Savage Peak from Carter Lake; Carter Lake is not the only site close by, Savage Lakes is a close by lake. Carter Lake is a location that is reasonably dry generally; most of the rain falls through July, and the driest month is February. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! Carter Lake is so good!. If you came to camp Elk Wallow Campground is a wonderful place to do that; float down the rapids of Fryingpan River in a kayak. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Sawatch Range. Near Carter Lake you come across the Lake Charles Trail which is a great hiking trail; at Carter Lake you always meet someone from Edwards. This lake is so wonderful.
