Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Cortez; Mesa Verde National Park is a very splendid place to go to. Carlysle Number 2 Reservoir gets very little precipitation; during the month of October you get the most rain around here, and June meanwhile is the driest month. The warmest time of the year at Carlysle Number 2 Reservoir comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's,

Take a hike on the McPhee Stock Trail; Carlysle Number 2 Reservoir is not the only spot nearby, Miller Reservoir is a nearby lake. This lake is so wonderful. Dunton Hot Springs is a great location to get some rest. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Carlysle Number 2 Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at The Forks Campground. | |

Carlysle Number 2 Reservoir is right by the Stoner Stock Trail. There's so much to do here at Carlysle Number 2 Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Dolores River RV Park is a splendid site for that. If you want a splendid
time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Carlysle Number 2 Reservoir. Get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Dolores River, and a lake nearby is Plateau Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Rusty Spring is
a gorgeous place to explore while you're at Carlysle Number 2 Reservoir; hiking along the Ormiston Point Stock Driveway is tremendous fun.

Puett Reservoir
 | 11 miles away A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line.... |
Summit Reservoir
 | 12 miles away Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |

Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |
