There's some flowing water close by, Plateau Creek is a stream you can go to during your stay, and don't leave Carlyle Point Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Ormiston Point Stock Driveway. | | be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. There are perfect locations to discover along the McPhee Stock Trail, and if you need a spot to stay Dunton Hot Springs is a pleasant choice. Carlyle Point Reservoir is a location that is relatively dried up usually; most of the rain falls through October; the driest month is June. Do check out Spur Reservoir near Carlyle Point Reservoir, it's a scenic lake, and Dolores River RV Park is a great campground nearby. | |

Verde National Park is reasonably right next door to Carlyle Point Reservoir. If you came for an overnight stay Cozy Comfort RV Park and Mountain Retreat is a wonderful location to camp; there are some splendid whitewater spots
on Dolores River. Go for a hike on the Stoner Stock Trail, and you'll hit upon a charming lake called Anderson Reservoir.

Puett Reservoir
 | 10 miles away A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line.... |
Summit Reservoir
 | 11 miles away Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |

 | 14 miles away We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |
