Crystal Spring Creek is a stream that you may encounter while here, and nearby you come across the Pache Trail which is a fine hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Cowdrey Reservoir is a splendid lake close to Carlstrom Reservoir, and there is a magnificent hiking trail nearby called       the Mendenhall Trail. Camping at Never Summer Nordic is always a perfect experience. High temperatures at Carlstrom Reservoir through the summertime months are in the 70's. Summer night lows sink down to the 40's. Highs through the winter are ordinarily in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Carlstrom Reservoir temperatures dip to the 10's. Really nice skiing awaits you at Snowy Range, and camping is available at Illinois Creek Campground.                  Around Carlstrom Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rain; the wettest month of the year is mostly April, that's the one that rains the most, and January on the other hand is the driest.
