Stay the night at Tunnel Campground, and Clark Peak is clearly visible from Carey Lake. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Medicine Bow Mountains, too glorious to be true. Not far from Carey Lake, you'll stumble on Twin Crater Lakes which is a picturesque lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Joe Wright Creek. All through the months of summer highs here at Carey Lake       reach the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 30's. For the period of the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Carey Lake are in the 0's. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Island Lake; you can go for a hike on the North Fork Trail.
