Lake, and Piedra River is a delightful whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little visit to Little Devil Creek while you're here at Capote Lake, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Devil Mountain
Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Capote Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and after
the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Capote Lake plunge into the 0's. So many fun things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, just unbelievable. The Middle Mountain Trail is a good hiking trail in close proximity to Capote Lake, and a fine place to camp here at Capote Lake is Navajo.
