     The beauty of Capote Lake attracts many people from all around. The amount of rainfall that falls at Capote Lake is close to the national average; through August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is June. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Econo Lodge Pagosa Springs is a good choice. Near Capote Lake you find the Piedra Stock Trail which is a good hiking trail, and dry warm beds await you at Keyah Grande Resort.
And if
 
   that's not enough, there's heaps more to do in the neighborhood of Capote Lake. Camping at Capote Campground is always a delightful experience. Lakes are wonderful; Pargin Reservoir is a lake that's next to Capote Lake. The skiing at Wolf Creek is pleasant, also Pargin Dam is worth a visit since you're here. And that's not all there is to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. A magnificent panorama of wonderful Haystack Mountain is available from Capote  
               Lake, and Piedra River is a delightful whitewater spot nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. Take a little visit to Little Devil Creek while you're here at Capote Lake, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Devil Mountain Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Capote Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Capote Lake plunge into the 0's.
So many fun things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, just unbelievable. The Middle Mountain Trail is a good hiking trail in close proximity to Capote Lake, and a fine place to camp here at Capote Lake is Navajo.
