Camel Lake gets very little rain; the wettest month of the year is commonly March, that's the one that snows the most, and June is when it's the driest. If you're here at Camel Lake, you could check out Sand Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Interesting geology is available here; Sand Point is right next door to Camel Lake, and the Ute Trail is a great hiking trail close by. A great place to camp here at Camel Lake       is Bucks Campground, and going for a hike on the High Trail is always a great adventure. So many enjoyable things close to Camel Lake, absolutely mind-blowing. Camel Lake is in close proximity to Sheriff Dam which is a beautiful spot positively worth stopping at, and dry warm beds await you at Oak Tree Inn Yampa. During the summer months at Camel Lake highs are usually in the 80's; the overnight is a little colder of course, ordinarily in the 40's. Daytime                  highs all through the wintertime are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Camel Lake. Camel Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Baughn Lake Campground is a good local campground, and if you need a spot to stay Nordic Lodge of Steamboat is a great choice.
