Going for a hike along the Ormiston Point Stock Driveway will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; if you have the time, Hovenweep National Monument is a national park worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Dolores River next to Calf Reservoir; Hoppe Point

| | Spring is an inspiring site to stop at while here. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Calf Reservoir. Hiking along the McPhee Stock Trail is perfect fun, and camping at Mc Phee Mobile Home and RV Park is always a great experience. Throughout the warm days of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Calf Reservoir with overnight lows in the 50's. here at Calf Reservoir. Calf Reservoir is commonly a rather dehydrated site; the wettest month of the year is mostly October, that's the one that rains the most, and June is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful.
If the weather is pleasant here at Calf Reservoir, you can go for a hike along the Stoner Stock Trail, and lakes are such serene sites, why not go to Dry Canyon Spring Reservoir. A perfect site to camp here at Calf Reservoir is Cozy Comfort RV Park and Mountain Retreat, and dry warm beds await you at Dunton Hot Springs.

La Mesa RV Park
 | 15 miles away We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |
Puett Reservoir
 | 15 miles away A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line.... |
Summit Reservoir
 | 16 miles away Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |
