Cabin Reservoir is not the only place close by, Aaron Reservoir is a close by lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Cabin Reservoir; Stoner Stock Trail is a fine local trail. Drift down the rapids of Dolores River in a kayak, and glorious hiking is available along the Ormiston Point Stock Driveway. You could also stop at Long Park Reservoir if you're here at Cabin Reservoir; it's close by, and Mc Phee Mobile Home and RV Park is a perfect campground

| | nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Everybody loves Long Park, and after a long day outdoors Dunton Hot Springs is a perfect spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Cozy Comfort RV Park and Mountain Retreat; there's nice hiking along the McPhee Stock Trail. Just can't get enough of Cabin Reservoir. Hovenweep National Monument is one of the destinations near Cabin Reservoir that are magnificent to go to, and dry warm beds await | |

La Mesa RV Park
 | 18 miles away We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |
Puett Reservoir
 | 19 miles away A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line.... |
Summit Reservoir
 | 19 miles away Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |
