The Last Chance Trail is a perfect hiking trail next to Cabin Lake; White River - North Fork is a splendid whitewater spot close by. Summertime highs at Cabin Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's, and the night is a little chillier of course, typically in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Cabin Lake dipping down into the 0's       through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Cabin Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hill Creek Campground and Trailhead is a great place for that, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Fayville Trail. A great close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SILT, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can pop by Gregor Dam. A nice place for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of                  Cabin Lake is White River - South Fork; since you're here you can take a hike along the Bailey Lake Trail. Cabin Lake is a location that is rather dehydrated typically; October is the wettest month with most rain, and January is when it's the driest. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Cabin Lake has to offer, you can camp at Clark Cabin Campground.
