Camping at Black Canyon Campground is always a tremendous experience, and if you come at the right time of year, Cimarron River offers some tremendous whitewater. The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery is always beautiful. All the outdoors amusing stuff in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains will keep you coming back persistently. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Cimarron River, and if you've had enough of Butte Lake, Stink       Lake is close by. Not much rainfall falls here at Butte Lake; through the month of September you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Yeah, come up here to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains for a fine time. A pleasant place to camp here at Butte Lake is Big Cimarron Campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Butte Lake; Little Cimarron Trail is a tremendous local trail. This lake is so                  wonderful. If you need a site to stay Comfort Inn Ouray is a magnificent choice. So much exciting stuff next to Butte Lake, completely incredible. A spree to Moore Pasture revitalizes the spirit, and fine hiking is available along the Alpine Trail. Through the warm days of summer at Butte Lake highs are commonly in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Butte Lake. The summit of Horse Mesa can be observed from Butte Lake, and the Deer Creek Trail offers hiking at its best.
