This lake is so wonderful. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, too great to be true. A nice nearby hotel is Salida-Days Inn, and a lake close by is Hunts Lake. All year is a good time in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. Have a good hiking adventure along the Hunts Lake Trail, and float down the rapids of Arkansas River in a kayak. At Bushnell Lakes       you can observe Bushnell Peak, and if you came for an overnight stay Hayden Creek Campground is a great place to camp. During the warm days of summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at Bushnell Lakes; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Bushnell Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. Sugarbush Grocery and Camp is a wonderful campground nearby, and                  West Creek Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful. While you're here at Bushnell Lakes you can take a hike along the Black Mountain Trail; get covered with water paddling on Arkansas River. You think that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Going for a hike along the Steel Canyon Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and Circle R Motel is a good place to get some rest.
