And if you're still looking for more outdoors enjoyable stuff just keep reading. Sugarbush Grocery and Camp is a tremendous local campground, and there are other sites here than Bushnell Lakes, for example West Creek Lake. Bushnell Lakes is a beautiful lake in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. High temperatures at Bushnell Lakes all through       the summertime months are in the 80's while overnight lows are mostly in the 40's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 40's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Bushnell Lakes temperatures fall to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Hayden Creek Campground since you're here at Bushnell Lakes; you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Black Mountain Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sangre De Cristo                  Mountains. A tremendous close by hotel is Days Inn Salida, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Arkansas River. This lake is so wonderful. But wait, there's more enjoyable things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. The peak of Bushnell Peak can be observed from Bushnell Lakes, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Hunts Lake Trail. If you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Salida is a good choice, and do take a hike on the Steel Canyon Trail.
