Hiking is a popular thing to do around Burro Mountain Lake; Fayville Trail is a great local trail, and not far from Burro Mountain Lake you'll find Sterry Lake which is a scenic lake. At Burro Mountain Lake you don’t see much rain; October is the month that gets the most rain, and January is when it's the driest. For the period of the months of summer highs here at Burro Mountain Lake get into the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's.

on White River - South Fork for all you adrenaline people. A good spot to camp here at Burro Mountain Lake is Hill Creek Campground and Trailhead, and there's perfect hiking along the Bailey Lake Trail.

Elk lakes are located about 5 minutes from the wilderness area only 1/2 mile to the parking for jet lakes.... some colorado wild flowers... |

Definatly a 4 wheel drive Jeep Trail but only a few miles from Elk lakes, Jet lake, Shadow Lake, Blair lakes , Crater Lake, Deep lake and bison lake. Lots of Cut throat trout, rainbows and browns. Most deffinatly more than a one day trip. Always plan for all kinds of weather, and definitely tent camping only.... |
