This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Conejos River is so much fun; camping at Burro Lake is perfect fun, Spectacle Lake Campground is a perfect local campground. The high level of rainfall makes Burro Lake a rather wet place; March is the month that gets the most snow, and June meanwhile is the driest month.       After a long day outdoors The Spruce Lodge is a wonderful place to spend a night or two, and while you're here why not pop by East Canon Escondido. That right there is a heap of fun stuff already but it goes on, the San Juan Mountains has it all. If you came for an overnight stay Conejos Campground is a great location to camp, and don't leave Burro Lake without first going for a hike along the Ruybalid Trail. A striking lake like Alverjones Lake right next door                  to Burro Lake is a magnificent place to check out, and there are great places to explore along the Elk Creek Trail. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. There's glorious hiking along the South Fork Trail, and get drenched paddling on Rio de los Pinos. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the San Juan Mountains. The warmest time of the year at Burro Lake comes with high temperatures in the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's.
