The Forks Campground is a fine local campground, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Stoner Stock Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. If you come at the right time of year, Dolores River offers some good whitewater It's always great to stop at Wilkerson Spring. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Echo Basin Dude And Guest Ranch, LLC is a good choice, and if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along

| | the Lost Canyon Stock Driveway. During the summer months at Burnt Logs Reservoir highs are mostly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; overnight lows in the 10's for Burnt Logs Reservoir. spot to visit for more than one day, Dolores River RV Park is a perfect spot to camp nearby. Around Burnt Logs Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rainfall; through October this area sees the most rain while June is the month with
the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Hesperus Ski Center is just what you need.

Summit Reservoir
 | Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |

 | 15 miles away We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |
