Burg Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Summertime highs at Burg Reservoir regularly tend to be in the 90's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Burg Reservoir are in the 10's. Be careful coming to the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, you might not ever want to return home again. After a long day outdoors       Comfort Inn Fruita is a pleasant location to spend a night or two, and going for a hike on the Snowshoe Trail is always a good adventure. You could also stop at Fruita Waterworks Reservoir Number 2 since you're here at Burg Reservoir; it's close by, and there's whitewater on Colorado River for all you thrill seekers. Around Burg Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain while June is regularly the driest month. This                  lake is so wonderful. Burg Dam is worth stopping at while you're here; don't leave Burg Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Rim Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A visit to Colorado National Monument is worthwhile. That right there is a load of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains has it all. Burg Reservoir is not the only location nearby, Fruita Reservoir Number 3 is a nearby lake; there are fine sites to explore along the Gill Creek Trail. Now, you may imagine that's lots but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Burg Reservoir. Camping is available at The Falls Campground; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Colorado River.
