Escalante Creek has a splendid whitewater paddling spot nearby; Smokehouse Campground is a brilliant campground here.       This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Best Western Sundance is a good choice. Bullfrog Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Man, is there loads of exciting things to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Cottonwood Trail, and whitewater paddling is glorious on San Miguel River. This lake is so wonderful. Do set aside some time for Cottonwood Basin while you're here at Bullfrog                  Reservoir, and hiking along the Moore Mesa Trail is pleasant fun. Through the warmest time of the year here at Bullfrog Reservoir, high temperatures usually reach the 90's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 40's, and night lows in the 10's for Bullfrog Reservoir. Any time is a good time at Bullfrog Reservoir if you like the outdoors. Stay the night at T Bone Spring Campground, and Bullfrog Dam is a spot that is near Bullfrog Reservoir. It is very dried out here at Bullfrog Reservoir mostly; the month with most of the rain is August, and June on the other hand is the driest.
