Summertime at Bull Elk Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 60's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Bull Elk Pond drop into the 0's. Don't leave Bull Elk Pond without first going for a hike along the Fish Creek Trail, and it's a good idea to check out Big Muddy Creek. That right there is lots of exciting stuff already but it goes on,

| | the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has it all. A delightful site to camp here at Bull Elk Pond is Rio Chama RV Campground, and don’t forget to go to East Meadow since you're here at Bull Elk Pond. A great deal of rain falls at Bull Elk Pond; during the month of March you get the most snow around here, and the driest month is June. This lake is so wonderful. you could also stop by nearby Hidden Lake. Be careful coming to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, you might not ever want to return back home again. Branding Iron Motel is a good spot to get some rest, and if you come at the right
time of year, Conejos River offers some good whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Jicarilla Inn & Casino is a great site to spend a night or two. Bull Elk Pond is one of the lakes here
in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Camping at El Vado Lake Camping Resort is always a great experience, and Bull Elk Pond is not the only place nearby, Dolomite Lake is a nearby lake. All the outdoors exciting things next to
Bull Elk Pond will keep you coming back persistently. Good hiking is available along the V Rock Trail, and there are some great whitewater spots on Rio Chama.
