On a wonderful day you get a panorama of East Sheep Mountain from Buffehrs Reservoir, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Wheeler Trail. You'll meet a lot of folks from Silverthorne here; a magnificent site to camp here at Buffehrs Reservoir is Kite Lake Campground. The Wheeler Dillion Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close to Buffehrs Reservoir, and the best way to spend       a winter day is on the slopes of close by Breckenridge. Not much precipitation falls here at Buffehrs Reservoir; July is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Very good water scenery is available at Buffehrs Dam in the vicinity of Buffehrs Reservoir, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Tenmile Tailings Pond. And if that's not                  enough, there's lots more to do in the vicinity of Buffehrs Reservoir. Not far from Buffehrs Reservoir, you'll hit upon Mayflower Trailings Pond which is a delightful lake. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is good on Arkansas River, and you can hit the slopes at Copper Mountain close by. If only every location had this much outdoors cool things, what a great planet it would be. A pleasant place near Buffehrs Reservoir is Kokomo Gulch; getting to Clinton Creek from Buffehrs Reservoir is easy. If you need a place to stay Timber Creek Condominums is a perfect choice, and camping at Black Lakes Campground is always a pleasant experience. If the weather is great here at Buffehrs Reservoir, you can go for a hike along the Miners Creek Trail, and New Village is a fine site to get some rest. High temperatures at Buffehrs Reservoir through the warm days of summer are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's.
