     Buckles Lake is regularly a reasonably arid spot; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Blanco, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Leche Creek Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. You'll
 
   need more than a day to explore everything Buckles Lake has to offer, you can camp at Acres Green RV Park, and V Mountain is pretty and can be distinguished from here. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Buckles Lake. Looking for something in the vicinity of Buckles Lake? Spring Creek Lakes is close at hand, and don't leave Buckles Lake without first checking out V Rock. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Blanco River Campground,  
               and Navajo River is a splendid whitewater spot close by.
This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. You could also take a look at Harris Lake since you're here at Buckles Lake; it's close by, and a great nearby hotel is OakRidge Lodge. During the summer months here at Buckles Lake, high temperatures commonly reach the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. All through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Buckles Lake tend to be in the 0's.
On a tremendous day at Buckles Lake you can take a hike along the Blanco River Trail; Harris Lake Dam has brilliant water scenery. The V Rock Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close to Buckles Lake, and if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express PAGOSA SPRINGS is a nice choice.

Using the river or the land without authorization is tresspassing and is illegal. I am by no means giving you permission to use it. I am simply stating the facts. The take out after Mesa Canyon is where Trujillo Rd gets close to the river on R Left @ 37. 125988°, -107. 051072°

These are the closest Public put in & take out to the Lat/Long given on the site. Happy Raftin!...
