Hiking is a popular thing to do around Buckingham Lake; Jug Trail is a good local trail, and float down the rapids of Big Thompson River in a kayak. Cattail Creek Golf Course is a great golf course nearby, and get soaked paddling on Big Thompson River. The scenery at George Rist Dam next to Buckingham Lake is wonderful, obviously you could also pop by George Rist Reservoir while you're here; it's not far       at all. High temperatures at Buckingham Lake all through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Buckingham Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. The panorama of Mariana Butte from Buckingham Lake is wonderful; a good place to camp here at Buckingham Lake                  is Fireside Camper Park. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of folks from Fort Collins-Loveland come to Buckingham Lake, and camping is available at Fireside Rv Park & Cabins. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Crosier Mountain Trail, and The Keyhole is an exciting thing to catch a sight of if you're here. So much fun stuff to do at Buckingham Lake, so little time. After a long day outdoors La Quinta Inn & Suites Loveland is a good place to spend a night or two. Just can't get enough of Buckingham Lake. Looking for something close to Buckingham Lake? Mariano Reservoir is close by, and needless to say Dry Creek flows through this vicinity. Good hiking is available along the Round Mountain Trail, and if you need a place to stay Quality Inn Loveland is a good choice.
