Buckhorn Lakes is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. A lake nearby is Buckhorn Lake Number 1; Storm King is clearly visible from Buckhorn Lakes. Don't leave Buckhorn Lakes without first going for a hike along the Lou Creek Trail, and there are some fine whitewater spots on Cimarron River. Go for a hike on the Deer Creek Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Cimarron River. This lake is so

| | wonderful. Around Buckhorn Lakes you don’t get a lot of rainfall; September is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February. Having a fine time at Buckhorn Lakes is trouble-free. Castle Rock is a good place to stop at while in the region, and Cimarron Inn & Motel is a delightful place to get some rest. night at Beaver Lake Campground, and nice hiking is available along the Courthouse Trail. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Buckhorn Lakes; the nighttime is a tad colder of course, typically in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Buckhorn Lakes.
