     Why not camp at Beaver Lake Campground if you're here at Buckhorn Lakes, and the Lou Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Cimarron River for all you adrenaline kick people. At Buckhorn Lakes you don’t see much rain; September is the wettest month with most rain while February is ordinarily the driest month. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn & Suites is a fine place to spend a night or two, and if you're here,  
   you could also take a look at pretty Buckhorn Lake Number 2.
And that's not all you can do here at Buckhorn Lakes. Camping is available at Big Cimarron Campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Buckhorn Lakes; Deer Creek Trail is a perfect local trail. At Buckhorn Lakes through the long summer days highs are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Highs all through the winter are commonly in the 30's with temperatures at Buckhorn Lakes
 
               dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. You get a magnificent panorama of Storm King from Buckhorn Lakes, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Cimarron River.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Econo Lodge Montrose is a good choice, and Buckhorn Lake Number 1 is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. Buckhorn Lakes is right by the Courthouse Trail; Castle Rock is an attention-grabbing place to take a look at while at Buckhorn Lakes.
