There is a great hiking trail near Buck Lake called the High Trail, and Buck Lake is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Sweetwater Lake Campground is a great spot to camp nearby. Buck Lake is a location that is quite dry ordinarily; through March this area sees the most snow while June is generally the driest month. That right there is heaps already, but it continues; Buck Lake       has it all. W Mountain is clearly visible from Buck Lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Buck Lake has to offer, you can camp at Anderson Camps LTD. Through the warm days of summer here at Buck Lake, high temperatures typically get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. Highs all through the winter are usually in the 20's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Buck Lake fall into the 0's. Dry warm beds                  await you at Oak Tree Inn Yampa; get wet paddling on Grizzly Creek. If you need a place to stay Hotel Colorado is a great choice; nearby you stumble on the Ute Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. You could also stop by Crater Lake if you're here at Buck Lake; it's nearby, and the South Derby Trail is a brilliant hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful.
