After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express LA JUNTA is a glorious location to spend a night or two; there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Purgatoire River. It is very waterless here at Brown Reservoir frequently; through the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is January. School Section Reservoir is a good lake near Brown Reservoir, and let's not forget Hoe Ranch Arroyo which is a stream that you may bump

| | into while here. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Anderson Reservoir is nearby; dry warm beds await you at Hampton Inn La Junta. During the summer months here at Brown Reservoir, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 90's, and the nighttime is a tad colder of course, regularly in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's while Brown Reservoir nighttime low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 10's. | |
