Be careful coming to Brown Lakes, you might not ever want to return back home again. Going for a hike on the Fern Creek Stock Driveway is always a splendid adventure; Brown Lakes is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Road Canyon Campground is a brilliant local campground. Don't leave Brown Lakes without first going for a hike along the Cebolla Trail, and drift down                  the rapids of Rio Grande in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. You can distinguish Minnie Mountain from Brown Lakes. High temperatures at Brown Lakes through the summer months are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; night lows in the-10's for Brown Lakes. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. There are delightful locations to discover along the Long Ridge Stock Driveway, and obviously Mason Creek flows through this area. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Lake Fork Gunnison River. There's so much to do here at Brown Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, South Clear Creek Falls Campground is a perfect place for that.
