Be careful coming to Boyce Lake, you might not ever want to go back home again. Purgatory Flat is a good spot here at Boyce Lake, and Scout Lake is a great lake close by. Boyce Lake is a beautiful lake in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. So many enjoyable things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, not enough time. If you need a location to stay Purgatory Village Condominium Hotel is a nice choice, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the Highline

| | Trail. The snow is tremendous at Kendall Mountain. Through the days of summer here at Boyce Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 70's, and the nighttime is a tad chillier of course, typically in the 30's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Boyce Lake sink into the 0's. There is a pleasant hiking trail next to Boyce Lake called the East Fork Trail. | |

Lakes? Sure, Columbine Lake is in the vicinity. A magnificent site for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Boyce Lake is Animas River, and you can stay the night at Lime Creek Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you're
here at Boyce Lake, you could explore Lime Creek; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Silverton. This place, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Boyce Lake is a glorious
place to visit for more than one day, Purgatory Campground is a glorious place to camp nearby, and you can run the rapids of Lime Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Purgatory Lodge by Durango Mountain Resorts is a great place to
get some rest, and the Circle Trail is a great hiking trail close by. From a precipitation point of view Boyce Lake is a reasonably typical spot; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is June.
