This lake is one of the great places here in the Sawatch Range. At Boss Lake Reservoir you don’t see much rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and June on the other hand is the driest. On a wonderful day you acquire a sight of Mount Aetna from Boss Lake Reservoir, and there is a perfect hiking trail close by called the Quakey Mountain Trail.
There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Boss Lake Reservoir. If you need

a place to stay Best Western Vista Inn is a nice choice. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Boss Lake Reservoir, you could have a look at Middle Fork South Arkansas River; after a long day outdoors Super 8 Buena Vista is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. So many exciting things to do here in the Sawatch Range, too perfect to be true. There are other places here than Boss Lake Reservoir, for example Ross Lake Reservoir, and Monarch Park Campground
               is a pleasant local campground.
Lakes? Sure, Boss Lady Reservoir is close by; on a perfect day you can take a hike along the Browns Creek Trail. At Boss Lake Reservoir through the warm months highs are in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Boss Lake Reservoir plunge into the-20's. This lake is so wonderful. While staying at Boss Lake Reservoir you could always discover Columbus Gulch, also Boss Lake Dam is worth taking a look at since you're here.
Any time is a perfect time at Boss Lake Reservoir if you fancy the outdoors. Hoffman Park is a charming site any time of year, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at Monarch. While you're here at Boss Lake Reservoir you can take a hike along the Fooses Creek Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Arkansas River. All year is a great time in the Sawatch Range if you have a thing about the outdoors. If you came for an overnight stay Garfield Campground is a good spot to camp; get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Arkansas River.

Monarch
3 PHOTOS
...l south of the freeway madness that gridlocks Interstate 70 from Denver to the Front Range resorts each weekend. Located on Highway 50 on the Continental Divide, Monarch is very accessible. It's also one of the oldest ski areas in Colorado, established in 1939.
Monarch Mountain is what you expect from a real Colorado ski area. Abundant natural snow (350+ inches) and friendly people are two of our strongest attributes. You can walk from your car right to the lifts, prices are reasonable, and the runs flow naturally back to the base area. At Monarch you'll lose the crowds but not your friends.
Monarch is a family favorite because of great snow conditions and easy access to the mountain. Having one base area makes it convenient to drop off the little ones in the Children's Center, pick-up rental equipment, sign up for ski school and get on the slopes in a timely manner. Lift lines are a rarity and you will regularly find ski runs to yourself.

Browns Creek Trail
I have backpacked brown's creek trail since I was a boy, great overnighter. Good people on the trails, but still secluded enough to have some privacy....
