After a long day outdoors Days Inn Cortez is a delightful place to spend a night or two; do pop by Buck Reservoir, it's a pretty lake. Through the days of summer at Border Reservoir temperatures are typically in the 90's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with temperatures       at Border Reservoir dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Yeah, come here to Border Reservoir for a delightful time. A nice place for whitewater paddling near Border Reservoir is Dolores River, and going for a hike on the Ormiston Point Stock Driveway is always a great adventure. Dunton Hot Springs is a tremendous location to get some rest; the vista of striking Lone Mesa is delightful. The Forks Campground is a great local campground, and nearby                  you find the McPhee Stock Trail which is a nice hiking trail. Border Reservoir is pretty dry generally; October is the month that gets the most rain, and June meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. There is a pleasant hiking trail near Border Reservoir called the Stoner Stock Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Emerson Campground is a magnificent spot to camp.
