At Bolen Reservoir all through the summertime highs are in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while Bolen Reservoir overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's. Bolen Reservoir is pretty       waterless generally; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Bolen Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Jumbo Reservoir Campground, and the Spring Camp Trail is a tremendous hiking trail close by. If you need a spot to stay Wine Country Inn is a nice choice, and Bolen Reservoir is a location with many visitors from Grand Junction. This                  lake is so wonderful. Somerville-McCullah Reservoir is a great lake near Bolen Reservoir, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Kannah Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Near Bolen Reservoir you find the Coal Creek Trail which is a good hiking trail, and a delightful nearby hotel is Best Western Grande River Inn & Suites. There's whitewater on Kannah Creek for all you adrenaline kick people. All the outdoors amusing things in the vicinity of Bolen Reservoir will keep you coming back many times. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Powderhorn while you're here; on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Whitewater Basin Trail.
