Boggy Draw Reservoir is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. This lake is so wonderful. If you haven’t been to Mesa Verde National Park, you must schedule some time for it while you're here, and Dolores River is a fine whitewater spot nearby. Going for a hike on the Stoner Stock Trail is always a magnificent adventure; if you came for an overnight stay Emerson Campground is a nice site to camp. | | place to spend a night or two, and a beautiful lake like Sawmill Reservoir is a great place to stop by. Summer at Boggy Draw Reservoir arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are typically in the 30's, and night lows during the winter for Boggy Draw Reservoir tend to be in the 10's. It's always fine to stop by Stump Spring. Don't leave Boggy Draw Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Eagle Peak Trail; Phoneline Reservoir is a great lake nearby. You think that's sufficient? Just getting warmed
up. West Dolores River is a magnificent local stream, and a brilliant place to stop at is Cox Canyon. Around Boggy Draw Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rain; October is the wettest month with most rain while June is generally the
driest month. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Echo Basin Dude And Guest Ranch, LLC is a good choice; why not camp at The Forks Campground if you're here at Boggy Draw Reservoir.

Summit Reservoir
 | Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |
Puett Reservoir
 | A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed.  | 17 miles away We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |
