Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Lime Creek, and you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Brooklyn Trail. Very striking scenery and good skiing is what you get at Silverton, and on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Weehawken Pack

that is reasonably dry generally; the month with most of the rain is July, and June is the month with the least moisture. Now, you may assume that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau
Mountains. The summit of Ingram Peak can be seen from Blue Lake, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Greyhound Pack Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Bridal Veil Falls is a beautiful place to explore while you're at
Blue Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Mineral Creek - South offers some splendid whitewater. For the period of the summer months at Blue Lake highs are mostly in the 70's, and the overnight is a tad chillier of
course, generally in the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Blue Lake. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! The Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains is peerless!.
All the outdoors fun stuff in close proximity to Blue Lake will keep you coming back persistently. You're perhaps hooked on lakes, Mud Lake is one of those close by; camping at South Mineral Campground is always a magnificent experience.
This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Blue Lake you get some great water scenery at Bridal Veil Dam, and if you've had enough of Blue Lake, Blue Lake Number 1 is close by.

 | 4 PHOTOS ...4,000 foot peaks in North America, Telluride blends historic buildings and local watering holes with luxury hotels, five-star restaurants, sophisticated shops and world-class spas. This unique destination welcomes you with the same enthusiasm the locals feel for the mountains. Adding to Telluride's reputation for legendary terrain, the resort is thrilled to announce the opening of Revelation Bowl. This spectacular European-style terrain, located directly off the back side of famous Gold Hill, will be served by a new quad lift. Situated above tree line, the natural, wide-open bowl offers advanced and expert skiing in an unbelievably scenic setting. The opening of Revelation Bowl is just part of Telluride's incredible expansion this year. Public hike-to access in Black Iron Bowl, Palmyra Peak and Gold Hill Chutes 6-10 opened to rave reviews in January. All told, the resort has expanded by nearly 400 acres, offering the most stunning skiing and riding on the continent over its 2000 acres.
Telluride effortlessly mingles urban sophistication, historic charm and mountain spirit.<... |

It jumbles things from Telluride to Silverton in with Blue Lakes Trail. It is indeed beautiful. And you could hike up Sneffels (local 14'er) from this side, if you are fit and up for a very, very long adventure. ... |
