Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the Medicine Bow Mountains. After a long day outdoors Gateway Inn Restaurant Cnf Ctr is a great place to spend a night or two. Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Blue Lake. There are other spots here than Blue Lake, for example Jewel Lake, and on a delightful day you obtain a great       vista of Cameron Peak from Blue Lake. Joe Wright Creek is a fine whitewater spot close to Blue Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Tunnel Campground is a perfect location to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the West Branch Trail is always a great adventure, and camping is available at Skyline Campground. At Blue Lake you don’t see much rain; May is the month that gets the most rain, and January is when it's the driest. All through                  the summer highs here at Blue Lake get into the 70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 30's. Throughout the winter the highs are mostly in the 20's, and nighttime lows all through the wintertime for Blue Lake tend to be in the 0's. All year is a good time in the Medicine Bow Mountains if you go for the outdoors. Go for a hike on the North Fork Trail, and if you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cache La Poudre River. Near Blue Lake you come across the Blue Lake Trail which is a perfect hiking trail; Kelly Lake is a good lake nearby.
