Range. Man, is there heaps of amusing stuff to do next to Blue Lake. Camping at Portal Campground is always a glorious experience; Ski Cooper is a perfect local ski area.
Not much precipitation falls here at Blue Lake; the month
with most of the rain is August; the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Mount Elbert Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and a good place for whitewater paddling is Lake Creek.
All the outdoors entertaining things in the Sawatch Range will keep you coming back persistently. Independence Pass is a great place to go to close by; everyone nearby loves skiing at Aspen Highlands. The Mount Massive Trail is a
good hiking trail near Blue Lake, and one of the governing traits of the surroundings of Blue Lake is Twining Peak.
