Blue Lake is a nice lake to visit. Blue Lake is pretty dried up generally; April is when you get the most rain here, and January meanwhile is the driest month. While you're here at Blue Lake you can take a hike along the Fryingpan Trail, and sites like Fryingpan Basin are nice to explore. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Park Range. On a splendid day at Blue Lake you can take a hike along the Blue Lake Trail.

The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Blue Lake dip into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Blue Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lakeside Campground is a glorious spot for that, and the peak of Flattop Mountain can be seen from Blue Lake. But wait, there's more entertaining things to do in the Park Range. Going for a hike along the Twin Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; get your heart beating on the tremendous
whitewater of Elk River. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. You can run the rapids of North Platte River close to Blue Lake; probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Peggy Lake is just a very short distance away. Stay the night at Helena Campground, and the skiing at Steamboat is fine.
