Lakes are brilliant; Lake of the Woods is a lake that's close to Blue Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Shepherds Rim Campground is a tremendous site to camp; do pop by Lake of the Woods Dam if you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Bucks Campground is a great local campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Sweetwater Creek offers some great whitewater. This lake is so wonderful.       The Oyster Lake Trail is a tremendous hiking trail next to Blue Lake. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Blue Lake, so little time. You get a brilliant sight of Himes Peak from Blue Lake, and some nearby water includes Lynx Creek. Near Blue Lake you locate the Ute Trail which is a great hiking trail, and dry warm beds await you at Oak Tree Inn Yampa. High temperatures at Blue Lake all through the long summer days are in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours                  it's mostly in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's; nighttime lows at Blue Lake all through the winter ordinarily descend into the 0's. It is very dried up here at Blue Lake frequently; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain; January on the other hand is the driest. This is a wonderful region for folks who like lakes.
