Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. Highs through the winter are typically in the 30's; overnight lows in the 0's for Blue Lake. Just can't get enough of Blue Lake. You're perhaps hooked on lakes, Picture Lake is one of those close by. So many fun things to do in the Sawatch Range, not sufficient time. At Blue Lake you always meet someone from Edwards, and camping is available at       Yeoman Park Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is delightful on Colorado River, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Salt Creek Trail. Blue Lake gets very little rainfall; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. If you need a place to stay SilverLeaf Suites of Eagle is a magnificent choice; Reap Spring is a brilliant local attraction. This lake is                  one of the great places here in the Sawatch Range. A perfect place to camp here at Blue Lake is Sylvan Lake, and get covered with water paddling on Eagle River. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Sawatch Range. Best Western Eagle Lodge is a wonderful place to get some rest, and if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Red Canyon Stock Driveway. Looking for something right next door to Blue Lake? Welsh Reservoir is in the neighborhood, and skiing at Beaver Creek is one of those things you just must do. But wait, there's more to do near Blue Lake. At Blue Lake you can catch a glimpse of Horse Mountain; an afternoon playing golf at Red Sky Golf Club is always a bliss. This lake is so wonderful.
