Any time is a wonderful time at Blue Lake if you fancy the outdoors. There are some great whitewater spots on Conejos River, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Laguna Ruybal. Dry warm beds await you at Allington Inn and Suites, and going for a hike on the Continental Divide Trail is always a magnificent adventure.       For the duration of the long summer days here at Blue Lake, high temperatures typically get into the 60's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Blue Lake are in the 0's. Blue Lake gets a large amount of water; most of the snow falls during March, and June on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Mix Lake Campground is a great campground                  nearby, and splendid hiking is available along the San Juan Stock Driveway. Just can't get enough of the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. There's whitewater on San Juan River - East Fork for all you adrenaline kick people. Lakes? Sure, Twin Lakes is nearby. And that's not all there is to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Stunner Campground is a magnificent local campground; you can go for a hike on the South Fork Trail. After a long day outdoors Branding Iron Motel is a brilliant place to spend a night or two, and swing by Middle Fork Conejos River it's a wonderful location to have a look at.
