     You're most likely keen on lakes, Spring Creek Point Reservoir is one of those close by, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Spruce Spring. Through the warm months highs here at Black Reservoir reach the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 30's. Highs through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Black Reservoir. Black Reservoir is a fine spot to visit for more than  
   one day, Priest Gulch Campground and RV is a fine spot to camp nearby, and you can never get enough of the delightful skiing at Hesperus Ski Center. This lake is so wonderful. Echo Basin Dude And Guest Ranch, LLC is a fine spot to get some rest. Lakes are good; Barnard Reservoir is a lake that's close to Black Reservoir.
Fish Creek is a good spot to go to; do take a hike on the Morrison Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Dolores
 
               River next to Black Reservoir, and you can have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Lost Canyon Stock Driveway. Going for a hike along the Little Bear Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; Transfer Campground is a delightful local campground.
And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do close to Black Reservoir. The sights at Mesa Verde National Park will blow your mind; after a long day outdoors Dunton Hot Springs is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. Black Reservoir gets a typical amount of annual rainfall; most of the rain falls during August, and the driest of the months is June.

Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed....
