There are perfect locations to explore along the Gill Creek Trail; Black Pine Reservoir is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Hay Press Campground is a wonderful local campground. Black Pine Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. If you come at the right time of year, Colorado River offers some nice whitewater, and a lake close by is Fruita Waterworks Reservoir       Number 1. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Black Pine Reservoir, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's; during the dark hours in the winter at Black Pine Reservoir temperatures descend to the 10's. Don't leave Black Pine Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Cabin Trail; camping at Divide Forks Campground is always a nice experience. Black Pine Reservoir                  is a location that is relatively dried up ordinarily; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most; February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. A visit to Colorado National Monument is worthwhile; if you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Fruita is a perfect choice. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Fruita Super 8 Motel is a great location to get some rest; Fruita Reservoir Number 1 is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. So many entertaining things in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, just phenomenal.
