     This lake is so wonderful. Looking for some flowing water? Try Big Buck Creek, and do check out Castle Number 4 Reservoir, it's a beautiful lake. All through the warm months at Black Mountain Lake temperatures are generally in the 70's; the overnight is a bit cooler of course, typically in the 40's. For the period of the wintertime highs are commonly in the 30's with temperatures at Black Mountain Lake dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. Now, you  
   may assume that's loads but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Black Mountain Lake. There is a magnificent hiking trail right next door to Black Mountain Lake called the Long Ridge Stock Driveway; if you came to camp Castle Lakes Campground Resort is a splendid site to do that.
While you're here at Black Mountain Lake, you could also take a look at scenic Castle Rock Lake, and going for a hike on the Cebolla Trail is always a good adventure.
 
               Get soaked paddling on Rio Grande; you might also want to pay a visit to Trouble Hill if you're here at Black Mountain Lake. Black Mountain Lake is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
Around Black Mountain Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. So much cool stuff to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too good to be true. There's so much to do here at Black Mountain Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Highlander RV Campground is a nice site for that; on a tremendous day you can take a hike along the Fern Creek Stock Driveway. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Silverton is one of those things you just have to do.
All year is a splendid time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains if you love the outdoors. The sight of gorgeous Black Mountain near Black Mountain Lake is good, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Lake Fork Gunnison River.
