     Black Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Black Lake is regularly a quite waterless spot; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the Park Range will keep you coming back many times. Black Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Davis Springs Campground is a great local campground; hiking along the Gore Range Trail is delightful fun.
Now, you may assume that's a load but
 
   there's even more cool stuff to do here at Black Lake. From Black Lake you acquire a nice view of Dora Mountain; going for a hike along the Surprise Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. Lots of folks from Silverthorne come to Black Lake, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can stop by Black Creek Dam. The Park Range scenery is always beautiful.
Nearby lakes? Sure, Black Creek Reservoir is near Black Lake, and
 
               a glorious nearby hotel is Vail Racquet Club Condominiums. This lake is so wonderful. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Blue River, and a day on the slopes of Copper Mountain is just what you need. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Park Range. Black Lake is right by the Lost Lake Trail, and a delightful place to camp here at Black Lake is McDonald Flats Campground.
Summertime highs at Black Lake generally tend to be in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Black Lake are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Head up to Vail and strap some skis to your feet, and after a long day outdoors Silverthorne Days Inn is a wonderful place to spend a night or two.
