Just can't get enough of Black Lake. At Black Lake you always meet someone from Fort Collins-Loveland, and Heron Lake RV Park is a great campground nearby. If you come at the right time of year, Cache La Poudre River - North Fork offers some great whitewater, and you can stay the night at Pawnee - Arapaho National Forest. All through the warm days of       summer highs here at Black Lake reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Highs during the winter are mostly in the 40's, and overnight lows through the winter for Black Lake tend to be in the 10's. There's always Dixon Dam to stop by in the vicinity of Black Lake, and Americas Best Value Inn - Fort Collins is a good spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Water Supply and Storage Reservoir Number 4 is a nearby                  lake that you could stop by, and after a long day outdoors Budget Host Inn Fort Collins is a nice location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Greyrock Trail; do take a hike on the Jug Trail. Not much precipitation falls here at Black Lake; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain; the driest month is February.
