    The beauty of Black Lake is reason enough to stop by. For the duration of the months of summer at Black Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are commonly in the 40's; after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Black Lake dip into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Jug Trail is always a tremendous adventure. This lake is so wonderful.  
   Dixon Dam is worth taking a look at since you're here, and you'll hit upon a lovely lake called Annex Reservoir Number 8.
Soar down the rapids of Cache La Poudre River - North Fork in a kayak; if you need a spot to stay Budget Host Inn Fort Collins is a great choice. Be careful coming to Black Lake, you might not ever wanna go back home again. The Armstrong Hotel is a good place to get some rest; a round of golf at nearby Fort Collins Country Club Golf
 
               is a good way to kill some time. The Wintersteen Trail is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Black Lake; Black Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Pawnee - Arapaho National Forest is a great local campground.
Black Lake is mostly a pretty dried up spot; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. Black Lake is not far at all from Fort Collins-Loveland. There's so much to do here at Black Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Heron Lake RV Park is a glorious place for that. Get covered with water paddling on Cache La Poudre River; close by you find the Greyrock Trail which is a great hiking trail.
