There are good places to look at along the Apishapa Trail, and if you need a place to stay Knights Inn Walsenburg is a nice choice. But wait, there's more fun stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Don't leave Bingham Lake without first going for a hike along the West Peak Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Bingham       Lake has to offer, you can camp at Monument Lake Resort. For the period of the warm days of summer at Bingham Lake highs are mostly in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are usually in the 30's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Bingham Lake. You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. The skiing at Eldora is pleasant. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful.                  Nearby lakes? Sure, Russell Reservoir is near Bingham Lake. There's so much to do here at Bingham Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Potato Patch Campground is a glorious spot for that. This lake is so wonderful.
