Big Spring is a splendid local attraction, and Big Spring Reservoir is right by the Twin Spring Trail. At Big Spring Reservoir during the summer months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows at Big Spring Reservoir through the wintertime mostly plunge into the 0's. It is very arid here at Big Spring Reservoir typically; the month with most of the rain is July,

| | and the driest month of the year is February. There are some good whitewater spots on Dolores River, and do take a hike on the Eagle Peak Trail. Yeah, come here to Big Spring Reservoir for a wonderful time. Dunton Hot Springs is a pleasant place to get some rest, and if you came to camp West Dolores Campground is a great place to do that. Dressel Reservoir is a lake that's close to Big Spring Reservoir. After a long day outdoors Echo Basin Dude And Guest Ranch, LLC is a glorious location to spend a night or two, and Groundhog Creek is in the neighborhood of Big
Spring Reservoir and is always a delight to stop at. Camping at Mavreeso Campground is always a great experience, and needless to say, this is a magnificent region for people who like lakes, Dressel Number Two Reservoir is a lake in the vicinity.

It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |
