Hiking along the Eagle Peak Trail is good fun, and if you came to camp Mavreeso Campground is a delightful place to do that. It is very arid here at Big Spring Reservoir mostly; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Be careful coming to Big Spring Reservoir, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Big Spring is a fine       local attraction; Dunton Hot Springs is a wonderful place to get some rest. Summertime highs at Big Spring Reservoir frequently tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Big Spring Reservoir descend into the 0's. Big Spring Reservoir is right by the Stoner Mesa Trail, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater                  of Dolores River. Groundhog Creek is a tremendous site to go to. There's so much to do here at Big Spring Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, West Dolores Campground is a great place for that. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Big Spring Reservoir, you could also stop at pretty Aspen Reservoir, and do take a hike on the Twin Spring Trail.
