Just can't get enough of Big Red Reservoir. There's whitewater on San Miguel River for all you thrill seekers. There's so much to do here at Big Red Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Iron Spring Campground is a splendid place for that. It is very waterless here at Big Red Reservoir commonly; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is February. This       lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Horsefly Trail, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Montrose here. Big Red Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Little Red Canyon is a fine location to take a look at nearby, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend San Miguel River. Take a hike on                  the Pool Creek Trail, and Big A Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth a visit. Stay the night at Antone Spring Campground, and Little Red Reservoir is a good lake nearby. But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Horsefly Bench is something you shouldn't miss since you're here at Big Red Reservoir, and a wonderful lake like Horsefly Trail Reservoir Number 2 is a delightful location to take a look at. Summertime highs at Big Red Reservoir commonly tend to be in the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Big Red Reservoir temperatures drop to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
