Not much rainfall falls here at Big Red Reservoir; July is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is February. Dry warm beds await you at NORWOOD Inn, and there is a pleasant hiking trail close by called the Pool Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The Horsefly Trail is a brilliant hiking trail close to Big Red Reservoir; Little Red Canyon is also a tremendous place to look at. Summertime highs       at Big Red Reservoir regularly tend to be in the 80's while overnight lows are frequently in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Big Red Reservoir. Big Red Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Now, you may believe that's a lot but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Big Red Reservoir. Big Red Reservoir is a delightful place to camp, Antone                  Spring Campground is a delightful place, and after a long day outdoors Back Narrows Inn is a great site to spend a night or two. So many amusing things in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, just tremendous. There's some flowing water close by, Big A Creek is a stream you can visit while you're here, and don't leave Big Red Reservoir without first checking out Horsefly Bench. And that's not all you can do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Stay the night at Iron Spring Campground, and there are some great whitewater spots on San Miguel River. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend San Miguel River. Nearby lakes?
